FAQ

Tap installation

We will provide you with a custom quote without obligation. The quoted price is highly dependent on location, duration and number of people of the event.

We are of the principle quote = invoice price. So no unpleasant surprises afterwards.

The quote includes delivery and installation.

The tap installation is always delivered and installed by someone from PHIL. This way, the installation is always connected correctly and the technician can still provide a word of explanation about its operation.

There is a deposit of 3.00 euros per cup. These are settled only afterwards. Just like the barrels and CO2 consumed.

Usually 0 – 10 glasses are lost at a corporate – or private – event.

PHIL only charges for opened barrels. These are drums where the seal has been removed. Barrels where the seal is still on the barrel are therefore not charged.

Barrels will be charged after collection.

The connected vessel is empty. Replace the vessel.

How do you do this?

  1. Lift the lever of the beer clutch and unscrew the clutch.
  2. Remove the empty keg from the tap system. Place a new keg in the cabinet. Loosen the seal on the new keg and connect it. Don’t forget to click the lever down for the CO2 flow.
  3. Next to the refrigeration hang beer kettles. See which koker is at a lowered level. This one is the one from the empty keg. To re-tap, turn the valve at the top of the koker open briefly to raise the level. When it reaches the top turn the valve closed again.

You can tap again!

You can tap again!

This is because the beer line was drained when draining the previous keg.

To tap again, place a few glasses on the tap head until the glasses fill perfectly again. This may take 5 to 10 -some glasses per tap head.

This is because it gets too hot in the cabinet.

Solution 1: Open the doors of the installation for a while so that the heat can escape.

Solution 2: Turn the cooling a little colder, one setting may be sufficient. (1 = warmest, 7 = coldest)

  1. Check the supply of water. This can be done in 2 ways. On the one hand directly at the faucet, make sure it is open. On the other hand at the filter head, on this you will see a valve, this should always be lying. Do not point upwards.
  2. Check that all electrical connections are still properly connected. At the installation itself or at the outlet.
  3. Turn off the device for a few 10 seconds. And turn it on again.

Should the above not work, be sure to contact us.

This is perfectly normal. The pressure of the CO2 regularly pushes out a drop. To make this stop, you can take off a little flat water to take the pressure off.

With all drinking water systems, we require the following connections.

1x 3/4″ free outdoor tap
1x 230V / 16A (normal) power outlet

With a multi-purpose faucet (filtered flat and sparkling water on the one hand, and normal hot and cold tap water on the other), the following provisions should be made
1x cold combination angle stopcock 3/8″ (tap water) – 3/4″ (filtered water)
1x hot angle stopcock 3/8″ (tap water)
1x 230V / 16A (normal) socket

Natural ventilation should be provided for under-cabinet cooling (in cabinet). 200cm2

These provisions should be made for placement by PHIL

PHIL has some options of cartridges. Depending on type of cartridge, you can find the number of liters of spray water below:

2 kg: +- 350 liters
1.3 kg: +- 200 liters
0.6 kg: +- 90 liters

For businesses, we provide three 2 kg cartridges which yields at least 1,000 liters of sparkling water. These are changed at annual maintenance.

Should you already run out of 2 cartridges quite a while before the maintenance, you can always contact us for an earlier change.

The pressure of the spray water is very low or there is no more effervescence on the water? Test if the flat water still has the normal pressure. If this is the case, your CO2 bottle is empty, the bottle is turned on or the pressure gauge valve is on.

CO2 bottle empty: replace the CO2 cartridge.
CO2 cartridge is closed: open the CO2 cartridge.
Pressure gauge valve is closed: you will notice this because the valve is at right angles to the line. Turn the valve in the line flow direction.

Contact us if the above does not work.

  1. There is no more pressure on the water when you want to take fizz.
  2. The water no longer fizzes.
  3. The CO2 meter has a red plain, it is heavily in the red.

A CO2 cartridge you may perfectly replace yourself. We always supply multiple CO2 bottles to always have delicious sparkling water at your disposal.

  1. Close the CO2 bottle.
  2. Unscrew the CO2 meter with the wrench provided. (some CO2 may escape in the process)
  3. Set the empty bottle ready for replacement at the next service.
  4. Take a new bottle and remove the seal.
  5. Screw the CO2 meter back on. Make sure it is tight!
  6. Open the bottle and the CO2 meter automatically returns to 3.5 to 4 bar

Wait about 15 minutes, you should have squirt water again. Is this not working? Then you need to vent the system. You do this as follows.

  1. Turn off the water supply. This can be done in 2 ways. On the one hand directly at the faucet. On the other hand at the filter head, on this you will see a valve that lies flat, turn it so that it points up.
  2. Take a bucket and place it under the tap head
  3. Drain effervescent water until only CO2 comes out, this may splash a bit. Release CO2 for about 5 seconds. (this may make some noise)
  4. Turn the water supply back on. Either at the faucet or at the filter.

Wait about 15 minutes, you should have perfect sparkling water again.

If this is still not resolved you can always contact us and a technician will come by!
